This year’s Meadowlark Nature Festival Featured Artist is Val Eibner, who has kindly donated an original signed, fused glass mounted sculpture 'Eye Spy a Meadowlark' for the 15th Anniversary Event.

'Eye Spy a Meadowlark' is valued at $1100 and you can WIN this fabulous piece! Raffle tickets can be purchased at the ticket sales office and Visitor Centre tent prior to the Festival or at the Celebration Event where the winner will be announced.

Meadowlark Nature Festival Celebration EventVal was Born, raised and schooled in Winnipeg, Manitoba and studied Liberal Arts, Art History, Interior Design and Fine Arts from 1967 to 1972 at the University of Manitoba, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Val was employed as a Fine Arts Technician/Assistant Teacher in the Fine Arts Department at Sheridan College, the School of Design, Mississauga, Ontario, and the University of Calgary, Alberta during the 1970’s. She then established a professional pottery studio in Summerland, BC, which she ran from 1978 to 1985. She was invited and joined the emerging artist program at Banff School of Fine Arts in 1986/87. Val then established a professional pottery studio/school in Abbotsford, BC, from 1989 to 2002, and went on to work in the Film Industry as a sculptor and set dresser from 1999 to 2002. After that, she started a Fused Glass Studio in Summerland, BC, from 2002 to this day.

Val's focus for the last 10 years has been on creating glass pictures and sculptures for numerous private commissions and one of a kind artworks. She is a member of the Glass Artist Association of Canada www.glassartcanada.ca and the BC Glass Artist Association, and a member for 9 years of ars longa artist group in the Okanagan Valley www.arslonga.ca
